We’re a small family made up of a carpenter, a chef, and the undisputed king of the house—our adventure-loving dog! Though we come from different corners of the world, we now call Calgary, Alberta, home, and we love being so close to the Rockies.
Adventure is a big part of who we are. Whether it’s hiking, camping, road trips, paddleboarding, snowshoeing, or backcountry exploring, we do it together.
This year, we hope to add a kayak trip to the list—if we can!
At home, the kitchen is our playground. We cook as a team, experimenting with flavors from around the world, trying new spices, baking, and even canning. Food isn’t just nourishment for us—it’s a way of connecting, creating, and sharing.
We believe in living a healthy, balanced life—physically and mentally—because strength and confidence help us tackle whatever comes our way.
We’ve moved across the world, chasing new experiences, and somewhere along the way, we found each other. Now, we dream of a cozy home in the woods, a place where we can continue building the life we love.
With our love for food and adventure, we realized we wanted to create something of our own—a way to share our delicious, healthy meals while building a future for our family.
And so, Berny’s Backyard was born.
